Enable Facebook Comments on Your WordPress Website

Most content management systems, like WordPress, include a commenting system of some kind. It's usually something simple enough to get your website's interaction off the ground. While that's great and all, there is always one obstacle that seems to hold others back from wanting to comment — and that's the lack of social media integration.

Nearly everyone is on Facebook nowadays, so wouldn't it be great if users could comment using their Facebook account? This is not only incredibly convenient for the community, but it allows for an extra layer of transparency. It's a win-win scenario that makes for a seamless experience.

Depending on which CMS (content management system) you're using, the process of enabling Facebook comments on your website can vary. Brand Rockt is powered by WordPress, so the steps below should be familiar to most.

  1. Download the Facebook Comments plugin.
  2. Install and activate the plugin on your WordPress website.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up Facebook Comments.

If you are confused with the step regarding your Facebook App ID, not a problem. Send us a message and we'd be happy to help. You will also need to disable the default WordPress commenting system. This process is explained here.

Once the setup process is complete, it's a good idea to post a test comment. This ensures that the plugin was installed and configured properly. Happy interacting!
