Increase Community Engagement with a Muut Forum

Introducing a forum on your website can be an excellent way of encouraging visitors to interact with one another. The content on your site may be interesting to take in, but wouldn't it be nice if there were people actually talking about it? Of course it would.

And let's face it, the typical comments section on a website can only offer so much.

There are multiple ways of adding a forum to your site. Unfortunately, the majority of services that I have found require some form of payment. Either that, or the user experience just doesn't seem all that great. After all, you will want to add a forum that's easy to use and understand, which is why I highly recommend giving Muut a try.

Muut is an all-in-one community platform that offers some truly useful tools for those looking to increase overall engagement, including the ability to easily embed forums on websites. This feature alone makes the platform worth it for me. But then again, I'm not spending a dime. I will touch upon that in a bit.

Building a forum is as easy as it gets. Muut walks you through the process, while providing you with plenty of customization options. You can choose from a variety of themes, but I prefer going with the simplest one available and then tweaking it using my own custom CSS. This allows me to embed the forum on my personal website and have it blend in the best I can.

Forums on Muut are also responsive, meaning they will automatically adapt to different screen sizes. Whether your site's visitors are using a tablet or a desktop, they will always be presented with a clean layout that is easy to navigate. This especially applies to mobile users, as Muut proudly advertises the fact that their forums are lightweight and optimized for slower Internet connections.

Muut features more than just forums, including comments and private messages.

Muut does have pricing plans, but you are not required to pay just to have a good experience. Their premium plan is currently going for $16/month, which seems a little pricey to me. However, with the free plan, you still have access to everything you'll need — including the following:

  • Unlimited traffic and users
  • Unlimited content
  • Support for 28+ languages
  • Ad-free experience
  • Custom styles

Having used Muut for years, I have yet to actually pay for the service. The free plan offers all the features I need, which I think says a lot. Check out my forum for an example.
