How I Got My AirPods Six Weeks Ahead of Estimated Delivery

If you're in the market for Apple's AirPods, then you are going to be waiting for a while — at least if you go the traditional Apple.com route. That's what I originally did. But when I saw the delivery estimate was six weeks away, I was immediately disappointed. After all, I am spoiled by services like Amazon Prime, as I'm used to receiving products within days of ordering.

Unless you luck out and happen to come across AirPods at an Apple Store or authorized reseller (such as Best Buy), you are pretty much forced to go on eBay and pay a premium for the convenience of getting them early. Luckily, there is a better way.

Many people, myself included, don't often think of going to any of the phone carrier's websites to order phone accessories. For example, I've been known to order my new iPhone via att.com, but that's about it. Everything else I order is usually through Amazon or Apple.

Well, therein lies the secret. Bypass the madness that is apple.com and go straight to any of the following links:

AT&T | Verizon | Sprint

I ended up going through AT&T and my AirPods arrived just three days later. Needless to say, I'm sure you can imagine my excitement — and I'm not even a big headphones user. But there's something about the AirPods that really draw me in. From the classy design to the 'it just works' functionality, I'm loving them. Of course, your ordering experience may differ than mine. Inventory tends to fluctuate regularly, so check back often.

Check out my unboxing and first impressions video of the AirPods right below. Things get a little geeky, so don't say I didn't warn you.
